Shopee Malaysia Seller Fees (2026): The Complete Breakdown

Short answer: A typical Shopee Malaysia seller pays around 19.98% of order value plus a flat RM 0.54 per order, made up of commission (~10.26%), a service/programme fee (~5.94%), and a transaction fee (~3.78% standard). Two traps push it higher: SPayLater orders cost ~4.86% transaction fee instead of 3.78%, and Live Xtra adds ~3.24% on live-attributed orders. All SST-inclusive as of the Feb 2026 update — confirm on the official Seller Centre rate card.

Net Revenue = Order value − commission − service fee − transaction fee − RM 0.54 support fee (− Live Xtra if live)

Your GMV is not your income. Here is the full Shopee fee stack for Malaysian sellers, what changed in 2026, and the two lines that quietly eat margin.

How much does Shopee charge per order?

Fee lineRate (2026)Notes
Commission~10.26% (9.5% + SST)Raised in Feb 2026 (was ~8.64%); category-based
Service / programme fee~5.94% (5.5% + SST)e.g. Free Shipping programme
Transaction fee (standard)~3.78% (3.5% + SST)Standard payment methods
Transaction fee (SPayLater)~4.86% (4.5% + SST)SPayLater instalment orders
Platform support feeRM 0.54 flatPer order
Live Xtra programme+~3.24% (3% + SST)Only on live-attributed orders

For a standard-payment order in the Free Shipping programme, the percentage lines add up to about 19.98%, plus the flat RM 0.54. That is before product cost, ads, and affiliate commission.

Worked example: one RM 100 order

StepAmount (RM)
Order value (Revenue)100.00
− Commission (10.26%)10.26
− Service fee (5.94%)5.94
− Transaction fee (3.78% standard)3.78
− Platform support fee (flat)0.54
= Net Revenue79.48

So on a RM 100 sale, roughly RM 20.52 is gone before COGS. Now imagine the same order paid via SPayLater and won during a live: add ~1.08% (the SPayLater transaction premium) and ~3.24% (Live Xtra), and you lose another ~RM 4.32 — net revenue drops to about RM 75.16 on the same RM 100.

What changed in Shopee's Feb 2026 update?

The headline change was the commission raise to ~10.26% (9.5% plus SST), up from around 8.64%. On a RM 100,000 GMV month, that single change is roughly RM 1,600 more in fees than the old rate. If you priced your catalogue against the old commission, your margins quietly shrank the day the new rate took effect.

The other lines — service fee, transaction fee, and the RM 0.54 support fee — round out a stack that is materially heavier than most sellers realise when they only look at "commission".

The SPayLater trap: 4.86% vs 3.78%

Here is the line most sellers miss. Standard payments carry a transaction fee of about 3.78%. But SPayLater instalment orders carry about 4.86% — roughly 1.08% more on every SPayLater sale (official reference: seller.shopee.com.my/edu/3503).

You do not control which buyers choose SPayLater, so this is not a fee you can price around per order — but at scale it is real money. If 30% of your orders go through SPayLater, your blended transaction fee is higher than the 3.78% you think you are paying. A seller who assumes a flat 3.78% will consistently overstate margin.

Live Xtra: the extra 3.24% on live orders

If you sell on Shopee Live and join the Live Xtra Programme, live-attributed orders carry an additional ~3.24% (3% plus SST). Live selling can be your best channel for volume, but the all-in fee on a live order is closer to ~23% plus RM 0.54 than the ~20% on a normal order. When you judge whether a live session was profitable, you have to load this fee onto the live orders specifically — a blended average hides which sessions actually made money.

Estimated vs actual: reconcile against escrow

Every rate above is an estimate. Your actual Shopee payout comes through escrow, and the amount released reflects real category rates, vouchers, coin cashback, AMS ad deductions, and campaign fees — not the rate card. This is why payouts surprise sellers. See Shopee escrow and settlement explained for how the release actually works, and compare the stack with TikTok Shop Malaysia seller fees.

A faster way to see the real number

To sanity-check a single order or price point, use the Shopee fee calculator — it applies the fee stack above, including the SPayLater and Live Xtra variants, so you can see net revenue before you set a price.

Doing this per order, per SKU, and per live session, reconciled against actual escrow settlement, is where spreadsheets break. Inseller was built by a seller running a real RM-scale Shopee and TikTok Shop business, to show real net profit using actual fees — including the SPayLater premium and Live Xtra load that flat calculators ignore. It is the profit layer that tells you what you actually earned, not just what you sold.
